HJG698 is an LVDT/RVDT excitation and demodulation module designed using a thick-film integrated circuit process that complies with the internal control requirements of GJB 2438. It incorporates a square-wave oscillator, a bandpass filter, and a differential-output operational amplifier to generate the excitation signal that drives the primary winding of the LVDT/RVDT. Simultaneously, HJG698 performs differential processing on the amplitude-modulated output signal from the LVDT/RVDT and converts it into a DC voltage output.

During the use of the HJ8038, the customer observed harmonic distortion in the sine wave. Upon learning of this issue, our technical team reproduced the problem and investigated potential improvement measures based on the customer’s feedback. Additionally, we conducted further performance testing under full‑temperature conditions to evaluate the device’s parameters. The final experimental findings are as follows: 1. The application circuit of the HJ8038 was optimized, as shown in Figures 1 and 2. By adding a tuning circuit, harmonic distortion was effectively reduced, bringing the harmonic distortion parameters into compliance with the user’s requirements. 2. During testing, it was found that variations in the system supply voltage directly affect the amplitude of the output waveform. Test data are presented in Table 1. We recommend using a high‑precision power supply with low temperature drift for stable operation. 3. The HJ8038 exhibits relatively high power consumption: at a +15 V supply, IDD = 20 mA, resulting in a power dissipation of 300 mW. Users should account for thermal considerations during operation and ensure adequate heat dissipation by installing an appropriate heatsink or optimizing the PCB layout. 4. Performance tests conducted across the full temperature range of −55°C to +125°C (with a 15 mA load) confirmed that the device operates reliably and stably under all tested conditions. **Product Overview** The HJ8038 precision function generator is a monolithic integrated circuit fabricated using advanced technologies such as Schottky barrier diodes.
